Deep dark ruby with purple reflections and an opaque core, slightly lighter at the rim. Fine noble oak spices, hints of vanilla, cinnamon and mocha, black fruits of the forest, some blueberry, ripe currants and nuances of liquorice. Powerful, taut texture, hints of cassis and nougat, opulent body, ripe, with velvety tannins and subtle acidity. The wine is mineral and grippy, with subtle oak spicing on the finish. It will benefit from bottle ageing.
