The sweet and dessert wine Oestrich Lenchen Riesling Spaetlese Vintage Collection, vintage 2002 from the winery Weingüter Wegeler – Gutshaus Rheingau has been rated in 2018 by Ulrich Sautter with 95 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Riesling from the region Rheingau in Germany.
Light gold. An archetypal freshness despite the maturity: apple peel tea, candied peach, coriander and hyssop notes. On the palate an almost Burgundy-like texture with subtle sweetness, lively acidity and an aromatically full finish. Aged to perfection - at the same time fine and intense, juicy and creamy. It's impressive how closely all components are fused. Almost quaffable!
