The red wine »Kalkmergel« Sprendlingen Spätburgunder trocken, vintage 2017 from the winery Weingut Beiser has been rated in 2021 by Ulrich Sautter with 90 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Spätburgunder from the region Rhine Hesse in Germany.
There are aromas of red cherry and black cherry, also rosehip, smoked meat, plus herbs and tobacco. On the palate there is plenty of minerality and spiciness on the powerful and full-bodied palate. It is dry, with supporting tannins, good fruit extract, and appealing length.
More about the tastingThe nose is characterised by a strong use of wood, lots of savouriness and intensity, blackberry, cherry and rosehip are also vivid. Juicy on the palate with good fruit and substance, the alcohol is well integrated, should be drunk with hearty food.
