The white wine Bechtolsheimer Petersberg Chardonnay trocken im Barrique gereift, vintage 2018 from the winery Weingut Ernst Bretz has been rated in 2020 by Ulrich Sautter with 90 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chardonnay from the region Rhine Hesse in Germany.
The nose is still dominated by smoke and the use of barriques, followed by melon, chamomile and vanilla. Dry on the palate, firm structure characterised by wood ageing, ripe acidity and good length, can develop further.
