The red wine Spätburgunder Heydenreich Großes Gewächs, vintage 2016 from the winery Weingut Friedrich Becker has been rated in 2019 by Ulrich Sautter with 96 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Pinot Noir from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
Lime and small red berries with smoky hints are revealed on the nose. On the palate there's an onslaught of finest concentration, accompanied by spices, fine-grained ripe tannins with balanced acidity and a concise textural component. It is a wonder how such density can go hand in hand with the impression of such elegance and almost weightlessness.
