The red wine Spätburgunder XXL, vintage 2017 from the winery Weingut Fritz Waßmer has been rated in 2020 by Ulrich Sautter with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Pinot Noir from the region Baden in Germany.
Rich red, brick on the rim. Intense nose, wood savouriness, preserved cherry, sloe, herbs and a hint of plum. Smooth tannins on the palate, powerful and full - as the name suggests: XXL. But at the same time quite sophisticated, the acidity provides freshness, good length. Clearly for power fans.
