In the 18th century, the Gelber Orleans was common in Nierstein and at the Rüdesheimer Berg, but even there, it was rarely fully ripe. Global warming brings the variety back - furiously rich, as this example from the Roter Hang.
More about the tastingSpicy and herbaceous with aromas of apple, apple peel and toasted sesame. Juicy on the palate with mild, well intragrated acidity. Soft impression and well-packed power underpinned by noticeable minerality. Salty hints, full of character.
