The white wine »Retter & Hammel« Veltliner trocken, vintage 2018 from the winery Weingut Hammel has been rated in 2019 with 90 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Grüner Veltliner from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
Ripe, but pure (botrytis-free) yellow fruit, a little pepper, with quite elegant, juicy acidity on the palate, which contrasts with the emphatically supple body, straightforward. A kind of Pfalz Smaragd interpretation: not exuberant, playing with delicate sweetness.
