The white wine »Tonerde« Chardonnay, vintage 2022 from the winery Weingut Kopp has been rated in 2025 by Ulrich Sautter with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chardonnay from the region Baden in Germany.
Restrained aromas, even from a large glass, toasted notes and a touch of wood savouriness, toasted hazelnut, smoky nuances, popcorn, yellow apple, peach, mango, yellow curry and saffron. Juicy and textured on the palate, full-bodied and fresh, fine acidity and ripe phenolics add structure and length to the pronounced fruit.
More about the tastingReductive and roasted notes on the nose: popcorn, roasted hazelnut, yellow apple, white peach, meadow herbs, lemon balm and caraway. On the palate, lots of juice and texture and fine acidity. Well-integrated, ripe phenolics gives structure along with flavours of honeydew melon and pumpkin puree. An animating Chardonnay with beautiful length.
