The red wine Markus, vintage 2017 from the winery Weingut Markus Weiss has been rated in 2019 by Peter Moser with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, St. Laurent from the region Lake Neusiedl in Austria.
Deep dark ruby with an opaque core, purple reflections and delicate rim brightening. Smoky, dark nougat aromas with fine dried-plum notes and subtle smoky tones: a savoury bouquet. Juicy, complex and sweet on the palate with ripe plum, round tannins, notes of figs and chocolate, and roasted aromas in the finish. Will benefit from ageing.
