The red wine Syrah Reserve, vintage 2019 from the winery Weingut Philipp Grassl has been rated in 2021 by Peter Moser with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Syrah from the region Carnuntum in Austria.
It has a deep dark ruby colour, with a black core, purple reflections, and a delicate bright rim. There are aroma notes of ripe plum, some cassis, underlaid with liquorice, as well as a chocolaty touch. It is juicy, elegant, with a fine structure, velvety tannins, some nougat on the finish, and a dark forest berry confit flavour. It lingers well on the palate, and is a versatile food wine.
