The red wine Zweigelt Ried Ungerberg, vintage 2000 from the winery Weingut Stiegelmar has been rated in 2022 by Peter Moser with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Zweigelt from the region Burgenland in Austria.
It has a deep ruby colour, with purple reflections, and a subtle ochre rim. There are aromas of black berry, a hint of fig and nougat, delicate hints of eucalyptus, and candied orange zest. It is juicy, elegant, with ripe cherry, sweet plum, velvety tannins, and discreet nougat caramel note on the finish. It has very good length, has reached its full maturity, is a prime example of a grown-up Zweigelt, and is a multi-faceted food wine.
