The red wine Mittelburgenland DAC Reserve Imperial, vintage 2015 from the winery Weinhof Oscar Szemes has been rated in 2017 by Peter Moser with 92 - 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Blaufränkisch from the region Central Burgenland in Austria.
Dark ruby garnet with purple reflections and signs of approachability already. Ripe cherries, dark forest berry confit and candied orange zest make for a complex nose. The palate is taut and tightly meshed, with some fruit sweetness and round, well integrated tannins. The long finish echoes blackberry jam and a mineral touch. Already easy to drink, but with certain ageing potential.
