The white wine Balado Albarino Val do Salnes Rias Baixas DO, vintage 2021 from the winery Zarate has been rated in 2022 by Peter Moser, Ulrich Sautter, Benjamin Herzog, Dominik Vombach with 95 Falstaff points.
Medium yellow-green in colour with silver reflections. On the nose, a very inviting bouquet of fine herbal spice and orange zest, with nuances of lime and blossom honey, underpinned by a hint of stone fruit. The palate is taut and tightly meshed, with fine acidity, saline and lingering with white apple fruit. A mineral driven, Riesling-like style of wine, that has the potential for further ageing.
