"Cold dishes" Wine Bars in Styria
There is no need to go through the names of the surrounding vineyards. Christian Zach has them all. And he has something against "label drinkers": namely wines that no one has on their radar (yet). Just let the experts do it. This also applies to Fuchs' cuisine!
The historic building in the heart of the city also houses a wine cellar dating back to the 16th century, so it is only logical that around 150 fine wines are served here - and a few hundred more from the Kehlberghof on request. Plus excellent delicacies.
The restaurant is called Weinkuchl, and a winegrower's trailer is parked by the pool. It stands to reason that the bar is also well stocked with regional grape juice. And it's not just hotel guests who are impressed by the offering: "walk-ins" can also enjoy Southern Styria to take away at farm-gate prices.
Before (or after) you plunge into southern Styria, the "Genussregal" offers a cross-section of all its liquid and solid delights. In addition to Muskateller, Sauvignon Blanc etc., the bistro also offers Vulcano ham, cheese and countless other delicacies.

The tiny store may not score on spaciousness, but the shelves groan under the delicacies, from the huge cheese display case (140 to choose from) to the antipasti. You can treat yourself to a good glass in house - and don't really want to leave.
The south-facing terrace at the Karmeliterkapelle chapel merges almost seamlessly into the vineyard. "Kapelle" is a new Sauvignon variety from the Tement winegrowing family - and the magnum collection, which is served with classic Styrian fare, also comes from them. Ideal for celebrating!
It is obvious that Styrian wine is served in the Schottis' bar. The fact that the bar is dedicated to Champagne and international Pinot Noirs (on two pages of the menu) is surprising. Snacks from the famously good kitchen extend your stay under the rustic old wood.
Hotspot between Stadtpark and the city centre: not only is excellent cuisine served here, the cellar is also well stocked with - primarily Styrian - wines. Other very good reasons to visit: regular events, tastings and the wonderful pub garden.
The modern store has an excellent understanding of the product and the knowledge is conveyed in a very friendly manner. Almost all fine wines from Germany are represented, along with the best from Europe and the New World - to take away or taste on the spot.
The inner courtyard in the heart of the city is a cool oasis in summer, where you can draw from the region's full range: 130 red and white wines from southern Styria and Burgenland are available, including classically uncomplicated and rare wines. Plus small Styrian delicacies.

The location of this stylish little restaurant with its beautiful garden promises nothing but good things, as it brings together the best from the neighbourhood. The wines from Styrian winegrowers are accompanied by delicious tarte flambée and equally tasty delicacies.
This extremely friendly little restaurant with its wine barrel-enclosed pub garden serves the best that the Vulkanland region has to offer: Wines en masse, from long-established to unknown. The owner also serves all kinds of delicious Styrian delicacies.
