"Cold dishes" Wine Bars in Styria

At this cosy bar people like to get together and choose a "Moscow Mule" or a glass of wine from the extensive range, mostly regional, but also wines from Friuli, France and Germany. The bar menu also offers a number of gastronomic specialities.
The "Genussregal" brings together over 1000 wines and flint wines under one roof. Styrian vermouth and gin are also included. The many gastronomic delicacies such as oils, herb pestos, salts, juices and nibbles also transport a large piece of Styria.
Martin Traint runs the small, fine wine shop with dedication and a wealth of expertise. Many wines can be consumed by the glass, this offer is convincing! In addition to the great Austrian winegrowers, there are also new discoveries and a number of natural wines.
In the beautiful Renaissance arcade courtyard, the range extends from classic Welschriesling to single-vineyard Sauvignon Blanc. Wine lovers can savour over 130 labels from Styria and Burgenland. There are also "treasures" from the winegrowers' private cellars.
In the centre of the Styrian volcanic region, the Trummer family's large, modern regional market is a popular place to go. Spreads, pâtés, seed oil, bread and pastries are sourced from over 200 suppliers. You will also find a wide range of regional wines.
Idyllic wine route, indulgence and wellness come together in perfect harmony. The multi-course evening menu plays all the tunes, while sweet temptations come from the in-house patisserie. The wine cellar surprises with rarities, large bottles and 600 wine treasures.
You can fall in love with the view from the terrace: steep vineyards and hilly countryside as far as the eye can see. Schilcher, Welschriesling and Sauvignon, the main representatives of the region, have character and freshness, with around 130 winegrowers listed.
The cheese specialist has a very good selection of wines from Austria, Italy, Spain, France (champagne, Crémant de Loire) and Germany through to "New World" wines. There are also gins, cognacs, fine old rums, whisk(e)ys and 20-year-old Calvados.
On cooler days, the paradisiacal Mediterranean garden beckons. You will be spoilt with an incredible variety of Styrian wines, served with ham and melon, spreads, cheese and, as a highlight, crispy tarte flambée. There is also live music from time to time.
A colourful range of delights awaits in the small, friendly café with wine bar. The extremely friendly staff serve good bistro dishes. The cocktails have evocative names such as "Rosemary Emerald" or "Chilli Red". The Prosecco on tap is also excellent.
Sissi Kroneder's passion for wine began at Schloss Kapfenstein - and she remains loyal to the Vulkanland region and its wines. Nevertheless, it is important to think outside the box - both in gastronomic terms and in the selection of open wines in this jewel of a town.
You can feel the passion for exceptional natural wines that are produced sustainably, but also in the imparting of wine knowledge. Guests can taste the joy behind the creative gastronomic temptations. Those who stay overnight are served breakfast de luxe.
The delicatessen will amaze you - a large selection of Italian specialities such as salami, ham and cheese. Owner Maurizio knows exactly where the products come from. Pasta and pizza are served. Prosecco, wine and grappa are also well stocked.
The meeting place is popular with connoisseurs, who appreciate traditional values and modern enjoyment from the region. Homemade pastries, small dishes, the monthly gourmet breakfast and an extensive selection of wines - inclination group: Vulkanland - round off the offer.
The atmosphere is traditional and cosy, and the lavishly topped snack boards with all the delicacies Styria has to offer are a feast for the eyes. The hot dishes are also full of flavour. Well-stocked wine racks offer a cross-section of renowned Styrian winegrowers.
The Meister family produces Vulkanland flint wine using the Champagne method and you can enjoy it with an unrivalled view from the panoramic terrace together with around 300 of the finest products from the region. The 350-year-old ambience of the vaulted cellar also has something special.
