Three pillars are important to the hostess par excellence, Johanna "Pipsi" Gebeshuber, in the spacious old winegrower's house: regionality, organic and slow food products. The cuisine builds on these pillars, and not just with the oven roast to accompany the local wines.
The Aumann family's wines and wine tavern have long been known far beyond the borders of the Thermenregion. The modern wine tavern serves dishes that you would otherwise only find in top restaurants. Plus: idyllic guest garden.
A family business with a 400 year old history is a must to visit! Bernhard Ecker's wines are getting better and better, and Heurigen dishes have been appreciated here for their quality for years, such as the caraway roast with mustard dressing and wild garlic capers.
The first organic winery in Carnuntum not only masters the art of winemaking, but also cooks with love and skill: guests travel long distances for the caraway roast from the wood-fired oven, as well as for the beautiful seating in the garden.
Traditional Kellergassen-Heuriger with a view of the vineyards. From smoked meats to surfleisch and Blunzn - most of the Heurigen products are homemade according to old family recipes. The in-house Qualitätswein wine comes from the Kamptal and Wagram.
Three generations of the Krug family live the Heurigen culture with heart and soul in the historic Zechhaus. The core of traditional dishes is extended in a sophisticated way, and the wine selection is already plentiful. Their own aperitifs and schnapps round off the offer.
The classic Heurigen benches and the vine-covered pergola make for a particularly cosy place to sit. A picture-book Heurigen courtyard - perfect for relaxed, balmy summer evenings with a good glass of wine and typical Heurigen delicacies.
300-year-old family owned winery. The Heurigen not only serves the widely appreciated white Burgundy wines, but also hearty Heurigen fare. Much of the food is made in-house, including a poppy seed cake made according to grandma's recipe.
The wines come from famous Spitzer vineyards such as Bruck and Setzberg, while the produce for the hearty Heurigen dishes is sourced locally. In fine weather, you can enjoy all this in a pretty forecourt with a view of the Wachau's unique terraced vineyards.
The countered circular terrace offers a magnificent view of Dürnstein in the Wachau with its famous blue church tower. You can also enjoy a traditional Hauerjause snack and local white wines from the southern banks of the Wachau (such as Ried Steiger).
Whether for tourists or locals, this traditional wine tavern is a popular destination near Göttweig Abbey. Homemade, down-to-earth Heurigen snacks from selected producers, natural homemade, sourdough bread and their own wines.
Helene and Hannah, the Falstaff 2024 Young Winemakers from Lower Austria, not only run the organic winery together - they also run a pretty wine tavern that is idyllically nestled in the middle of vineyards. The kitchen serves the finest classics.
Nice Heuriger with green courtyard and garden surrounded by vineyards. Culinary delights include cold and warm Heurigen classics as well as seasonal tavern cuisine. Tip: the homemade apple and verjuice tart! Served with organic white and red wines by the glass.
A cozy atmosphere is the order of the day in this rustic wine tavern at the foot of the Heiligenstein, one of the best terroirs for local white wine: you sit under vine arbors and enjoy the magnificent view over the Kamptal. Good, classic Heurigen specialties are served.
The extensive wine list from the restaurant's own production is in no way inferior to that of the Heurigen. The Bruckfleisch is famous - if you want to understand the region, you should start with it. But they also prefer to cook seasonally and with their own ingredients!
The inner courtyard is adorned with greenery, wood and vines typical of the Heurigen. The cold buffet offers plenty of choice, but the hot dishes (try the Surschnitzel!) also leave nothing to be desired - be it fish, meat or vegetarian dishes.
Each season brings variety to the Klampfl family's menu. The transition to the next gastronomic adventure is seamless, as is the specials menu (smoked meat!), which changes every month. Additionally, on Saturdays and Sundays you can enjoy the delicious braised lamb shank from Siegersdorf.
Did you know what a "Sausemmel" is? At Heurigen Nastl, this snack is a kind of signature dish, a Wachauer Laberl with roast pork, roast fat and red onion. It is accompanied by the house wines ("Gigant"), which are among the best in the region.
Schöller's Heuriger im Weingarten is located in the middle of the small village in a quiet location, surrounded by the vineyards. On the menu, guests will find vintner's house dishes, sausage salad, game specialties and - without the "W" - char.
