Das Le Telfair befindet sich im 1.300 Hektar großen Bel Ombre, dem sattgrünen, ruhigen Süden von Mauritius – weitab vom turbulenten, teilweise sehr überlaufenen Norden. An einem Ende angrenzend an das Bel Ombre Naturreservat sowie einen weitläufigen Golf course, am anderen gesäumt von goldenem sandy beach, ist das Resort ein paradiesisches Hideaway zwischen Urwald und Meer.
A small paradise by the Indian Ocean: extensive paths lead past palm trees as tall as houses and buildings in French colonial style. From the trendy C Beach Club with its long, golden sand beach to the large outdoor pool that looks out to the ocean: The atmosphere is as relaxed as it is elegant and you'll feel just as comfortable in yoga attire as you will in a chic dress.

The name Le Telfair comes from the Irish-British physician and biologist Charles Telfair, who documented numerous animal and plant species on the island.
The sprawling resort includes numerous French colonial-style houses with elegant suites overlooking the palm garden or the ocean. The rooms have cozy king-size beds, modern elegant furnishings and are decorated in soft natural colors.
Each suite either has a private balcony or a small garden where a hammock swings among the palm trees.
The large, elegant bathrooms are equipped with both a bathtub and a rain shower.
The château was built by an Indian businessman in the 19th century, but he never moved into the stately home. The Heritage Resorts have carefully restored the building and the antique interior and host guests at spectacular lunch and dinner events. In addition, Le Château can be rented as a luxurious private accommodation. A spacious garden, which houses a small monkey, stretches around the house. If you take a seat under La Intendant, a 300-year-old tree, you might even get to see the "house pet" with just a little bit of luck.
Tip: Auf Anfrage gibt es einen vom Chef zusammengestellten Picknickkorb, mit dem man es sich in dem großen Garten gemütlich machen kann.
Im Le Telfair begibt man sich auf kulinarische Weltreise – mauritische Spezialitäten geben sich ein Stelldichein mit internationaler Cuisine. Neben den drei Hauptrestaurants, einer Bar und dem etwas abseits gelegenen, luxuriösen Le Château haben Gäste auch Zutritt zu den Restaurants des benachbarten Awali Golf & Spa sowie der bodenständigen Küche in The Residences.

Le Palmier impresses with courteous service, delicious seafood, and a great location right on the beach. A must-try is the mild Mauritian curry, which you'll love even if you can't take any heat. Romantic: Lovers are treated to a candlelight dinner and a special romance menu, including a selection of absolutely delicious desserts.
Wer die Brücke neben dem Gin’ja Restaurant überquert, gelangt direkt zum Strand – und somit zum C Beach Club. Kulinarisch erwartet Gäste eine Auswahl internationaler Klassiker, dazu gibt es DJ Sounds und lockere Club Vibes direkt am Strand.
Tropical birds chirp away on the balustrades. The ambience is relaxed, yet effortlessly elegant. And the food? Delicious, all day long. In the morning, you can help yourself to the large intercontinental buffet, with Nespresso coffee and show cooking. Lunch and dinner are à la carte, with authentic Mauritian curry, but also culinary classics like penne all'arrabiata. Asking the attentive staff for recommendations is always a good idea here!
Far Eastern flair with a proximity to the beach, where a campfire crackles away, you'll enjoy excellent sushi and sashimi with fresh, buttery fish from the lagoon at Gin'ja. There's a fixed menu, but other Asian dishes can be prepared on request.
The perfect spot for an aperitif or digestif, the elegant Cavendish features live music every evening alongside excellent cocktails and small bites.
Culinary event tip: La Semaine de la Gastronomie Durable
2022 lud Le Telfair zum ersten Mal zur La Semaine de la Gastronomie Durable – eine Woche der nachhaltigen Kulinarik mit Masterklassen sowie eleganten Lunch- und Dinner-Events mit Hood and star chef Chef Christian Têtedoie. The festival is expected to be held again in the summer of 2023.
At 2.000 Quadratmetern lädt das Spa zu Erholung mit authentisch mauritischen Behandlungen. Am Menü stehen unter anderem die Seven Colours Signature Massages, eine Reihe typische mauritischer Massagen. Empfehlenswert ist auch die Le Telfair Signature Massage by Thémaé, welche mit der Wellentechnik arbeitet. Danach spannt man bei einem Glas Tee in den Relaxkojen am Ruhepatio mit Whirlpool aus.
Sportliebhaber dürfen sich nicht nur auf Yoga oder zahlreiche Aktivitäten im Wasser – von Tretboot- und Glasbootfahrten über Schnorcheln bis hin zu Kitesurfen – freuen. Alle Heritage Resorts haben zudem Zugang zum Golf Club with the Le Château Golf Course, dem einzigen 45-Loch-Golfplatz der Region sowie dem hervorragenden Restaurant O’Grill.
