Die Gäste entspannen am wunderschönen Pool, enjoy the view and relax on the terrace. The hot tub with its national park panorama promises additional moments of relaxation. If you like, you can observe the flora and fauna of South Africa on the 5-hectare estate, for example at the fish pond or in the swamp area. The latter is particularly suitable for birdwatching.
If you are not on one of the breathtakingly beautiful safari tours, you can also get active in other ways. For example, you can hike through the Drakenberg Mountains, take boat trips on the Blyde River or experience South Africa's nature from a helicopter. Still not enough? The property also includes an outdoor gym. And that is also a special feature.
The high-quality gym was a particular concern of the lodge owner Tommy Zadworny . The German originally trained as a sports teacher and therapist. Before joining the hosts, Zadworny worked as a sports instructor, personal trainer, therapist and masseur. His clients included numerous well-known personalities from the worlds of sport, politics and business. So he knows exactly what is good for people.
During a trip to Cape Town in 2001, he was hooked: "From the very first moment, I was amazed by the unique landscape, the fascinating wildlife that you can experience up close in the national parks and the hospitality of the South Africans. It was love at first sight, so to speak,", says Tommy Zadworny.
At his Sunbirds Oasis Lodge, he welcomes guests in 24 rooms. They are spread over six huts. A total of 64 travelers can be accommodated here. Culinary highlights, for example from the grill, are promised by the Delicacies aus dem Restaurant. Mit “Dip & Dine”-Angebot begrüßt es auch externe Gäste. Bis Ende 2025 renoviert man nun das Anwesen. Da legt auch der Chef höchstpersönlich Hand an.
“Um von den Energielieferanten in Südafrika etwas unabhängiger zu sein und nachhaltig zu agieren, wurde auch bereits eine Solar-Anlage errichtet. In den nächsten Jahren möchte ich das Angebot für unsere Gäste noch um eine Outdoor sauna with SPA area erweitern”says Tommy Zadworny. The local community is also important to him. 15 people from the region work at Sunbirds Oasis Lodge. And they he pays for further training or sometimes helps out with interest-free small loans.
