"Small Luxury Hotels of the World" ("SLH") welcomed new members at the beginning of 2026. The new additions include seven exciting openings around the world that will welcome guests for the first time in 2026. Falstaff TRAVEL introduces them.
The "SLH" collection, which now includes 700 hotels in more than 100 countries, regularly includes boutique luxury hotels. Whether traditional hotels or new openings: They are all small, independent gems that are characterized by special people, places and experiences. These are the most exciting new homes that are now part of "SLH".
The "Casa Caprile" in Anacapri, Italy, has been announced for spring 2026: a restored 19th century property with twelve rooms and suites that impresses with bold colors, custom-made furniture and a playful aesthetic.
This will be followed in July 2026 by "Eight Venezia", a new boutique hotel on Campo Santa Maria Formosa in Venice. Following extensive renovation, the 27-room hotel combines historical elements such as stucco ornamentation, frescoes and stained glass with modern design.
Also opening in spring 2026 is "The Grace Hotel" in County Mayo, Ireland, overlooking the 430-hectare natural area of the Westport Estate. Contemporary rooms, gastronomic concepts and a spa pick up on the color scheme of the surroundings and reflect the rhythm of the Irish west coast.
In Reims, "Le 3 by Champagne Thiénot" has marked the Champagne house's entry into the boutique hotel industry since the end of 2025 - and a new destination for "SLH" at the same time. With just 14 rooms, it combines the French way of life with design by architect Loïc Thiénot, spa and wine cellar experience in a historic town house.
In the third quarter, "Casa Simona" will open in El Valle de Antón in Panama, a town in an extinct volcanic crater. The hotel combines local architecture with nature experiences, rooms with valley views and a historic amphitheater.
In Morgan Hill near Palo Alto, California, the "Hotel MOHI by Appellation" is a sister hotel to the "Appellation Healdsburg", which combines the charm of the wine region with outdoor experiences.
Another highlight is the "Rhino and River Wildlife Retreat & Spa" in Assam, India, which offers a close-to-nature experience with 16 log cabins, views of river landscapes and wildlife watching. The in-house "Nirban Spa" uses traditional Khasi healing methods.
