The fifth "Schani Hotels" property is being built in the vibrant second district. From April 2026, the "Hotel Schani City" will welcome guests in a stylish, urban ambience.
In the heart of the second district, at Große Schiffgasse 10, Schani Hotels is writing a new chapter in hospitality. The new Hotel Schani City will open its doors in April 2026, marking the fifth hotel in the Vienna hotel group. With a clear design and focus on urbanity, the building sets new accents in the heart of the city.
The hotel's location is as historic as it is lively; opposite Schwedenplatz, in the heart of Leopoldstadt, history and modern city life come together. The "Schani City" offers 126 rooms, including twin and family rooms as well as 27 kosher rooms (on request), and at the same time creates a retreat that radiates peace and openness. A green inner courtyard, "Schani's Oasis", invites you to pause and take a deep breath - in the middle of one of Vienna's most diverse areas.
The interior design comes from the renowned office "AllesWirdGut". Natural materials such as stone, wood, cotton and linen characterize the rooms, while cacti and palm trees add subtle accents. "We want to create a place that touches people - through design, history and the togetherness that is lived here," explains Benedikt Komarek, CEO of "Schani Hotels".
The hotel is intended to be a place for encounters, intercultural and intergenerational, without religious or ideological emphasis - a quiet dialog with the surroundings that reflect the diversity of Vienna.
An Italian-inspired restaurant with pinsa, lunch menus and weekend brunch takes care of your physical well-being. An opening to the street with a take-away or bakery is also planned. Those who prefer a quieter atmosphere can enjoy a flat white in the lobby, which can also be used for small events and functions.
