Alpine panoramas, picturesque villages and stylish villas: Lake Como is one of the most beautiful destinations in Europe. New accommodation brings a new shine to the legendary shore.

Nestled in the Italian Alps, Lake Como is considered one of the most beautiful lakes in Europe. With its spectacular landscape, charming villages and impressive architecture, it offers a blend of nature, culture and elegance. New luxury hideaways make a stay even more appealing. Falstaff TRAVEL introduces them.

After a soft opening in fall 2025, the grand opening of "The Lake Como Edition" followed in March 2026. The origins of the luxurious house on the lake date back to 1830.

Luxury stay on the west bank

"Edition" has brought it back to life in collaboration with the designers "Neri&Hu" and the architects "De.Tales". The elegant lifestyle resort has 148 rooms, including 25 suites and two penthouses with nine rooms in the "Villa Gina", as well as several restaurants under the culinary direction of Mauro Colagreco - the top chef who has been awarded three Michelin stars and a Green Star and is realizing his first project here in Italy. The "Lake Como Edition" is located on the western shore of Lake Como in Cadenabbia, where Mediterranean flora meets snow-capped peaks. Highlights include the lively lobby bar, a floating pool and the view of the hills above Bellagio.

"Villa d'Este La Collezione" announces the opening of the "Miralago Luxury Apartments" for the beginning of June 2026. Located in the former "Hotel Miralago" in Cernobbio, directly on the shores of Lake Como, guests can now rent eight luxurious apartments.

Apartments in "Villa d'Este" style

The new residential units are spread over four floors and reflect the characteristic design DNA of the "Villa d'Este". Studio Droulers is responsible for the interior design, which places great value on a subtle connection to the landscape of Lake Como. The design is inspired by the historic villas along the shore: light-flooded rooms, bright color nuances and a calm, elegant design language define the ambience of the apartments. The choice of furnishings also reflects the connection to the region. Iconic designs by Ico Parisi who lived and worked on Lake Como, meet high-quality textiles from the Italian manufacturer "Dedar". The focus of the "Miralago Luxury Apartments" is on a stay that offers the greatest possible freedom. Breakfast can be taken either in the privacy of your own four walls or in the "Caffè Miralago" on the first floor. In addition, guests enjoy privileged access to the facilities and services of the "Villa d'Este", including the Sporting Club, the floating pool on the lake, the beauty center and the extensive gardens.
