"Cold dishes" Wine Bars in Salzburg
When a hotel becomes a "wine hotel", that's saying something. And it does! There are 30,000 bottles from all over the world in the cellar of the chic bar. The sommeliers are on hand with help and advice and also pass on their knowledge at tastings and seminars.
A staggering 400,000 bottles are stored in the warehouse, waiting to be taken away or tasted directly. The accompaniments are alimentari for at home or two kinds of snacks on site. It's hard to decide between Italian and traditional.
The restaurant is very pretty and Instagram-worthy with its old brickwork and wooden beams. Everyone is guaranteed to find what they are looking for in the extensive wine list. The friendly service team will advise you on what goes best with the fine, sophisticated regional cuisine.
The wine selection now comprises a good 1000 items. The focus on Austria, Burgundy and Bordeaux is joined by exciting wines from Spain, Germany and Italy as well as a considerable variety of flint wines. Fine snacks are also served.
A stage has been built for wine in the cellar of the elegant gourmet hotel - and what a stage it is! Because in the tastefully designed treasure trove, local wines shine alongside international wines, and as part of the weekly "wine tour", you can learn about them live.
The beer selection alone is impressive, but the new summer bar in the immediate vicinity of the lake also focuses on variety and flavour when it comes to drinks and wines. When "Wolferl-Antipasti" are also on the table, the (culinary) short holiday is perfect.
The tiny restaurant in the historic Steingasse offers fresh, creative antipasti and a pasta dish every week - accompanied by a variety of bottles from the cellar, which are available by the glass and always taste great.
The "secret" in the name of Andreas Felleis and Patrick Knittelfelder's restaurant is not true - the reputation for fine steaks, fresh pasta and delicacies from their own woollen pigs has contributed to this, as has the lavishly stocked wine cellar in the heart of the city.
The Irish rock oysters are followed by well-made standards of international cuisine, and the wine list also keeps up with a fine selection by the glass of the international variety. The gin and tonic menu also promises even more varied combinations.
The cosy parlour in the centre of the village is rustic but with stylish accents - the in-house wine cellar provides a never-ending variety of wines that can be enjoyed on their own or served with fine pub cuisine. Fizzy and high-proof spirits are also plentiful.
In the konoba next door, a small monument is erected to Croatian fish cuisine, while the vinotheque is all about liquid delights from the same place. The bottles with an Istrian focus are complemented by a few fine wines from France, accompanied by good antipasti.
Where there's coffee and fizz, there you'll settle down - especially when both are served in the best quality. So while the espresso smells in the cup, Champagne, Prosecco and Franciacorta invite you to a flint after-work drink, accompanied by panini and fine antipasti.
The beautiful vaulted cellar, a pleasantly cool retreat in the summer heat, specialises in Italian delicacies in liquid and solid form: Fine antipasti are served with the Prosecco. Gin and rum are also represented in good variety.
