Founded in 1907, the luxury hotel on the Lido di Venezia is considered one of the most famous hotels in the city. On the one hand, Thomas Mann set a literary monument to it. Schon seit 1931 gibt es jenes Lokal, die auch in der heutigen Zeit des Filmfestival in Venedig 2023 immer noch nicht an einstigem Glanz verloren hat: Harry’s Bar. Gegründet von Giuseppe Arrigo Cipriani and Harry Pickering it is a place where legends have already met.
Orson Welles, Truman Capote and Ernest Hemingway are said to have been regular customers here. And today's stars are also regulars at this bar, which is considered the birthplace of Bellini and carpaccio.

Mit Harry’s Bar ist man auch gleich beim legendären Cipriani. Viele Stars wohnen während der Filmfestspiele in Venedig hier, da es etwas abgelegener und ruhiger liegt. Zudem verfügt es über den largest pool of the lagoon city and wonderful gardens.
They also say Giacomo Casanova nach, dass er hier so manch wilde Nacht verbracht haben soll. Fraglich ist nur, wie sich das ausgehen soll. Das Hotel eröffnete 1958, also rund 200 Jahre nach Casanovas Tod. Promis gibt’s hier aber dennoch zu sehen. Jack Nicholson, Sean Penn und Spike Lee sind nur einige davon.
