The Ancellotta red wine variety is mainly cultivated in the Italian regions of Emilia-Romagna and Lombardy. It produces dark-colored, fruity and low-acid red wines that are ideal for blending. It is often used as a dyer's grape because of its deep-colored wines. It also produces very fruity, dark grape juice. It is contained in red and rosé wines from the DOC wines Colli di Faenza, Colli di Rimini, Lambrusco Reggiano and Reggiano Rosso
