"Mediterranean Cuisine" Restaurants in Croatia
A gem of gastronomic delights is waiting to be discovered on the island. Chef Marko Gajski's focus is on pure flavour, with the products sourced mainly from Korcula. A six-course menu is accompanied by excellent wines.
The beautiful house has a large terrace with lots of old trees, while the open fireplace inside is an eye-catcher. Here you can barbecue to your heart's content, but dishes such as the velvety beef stew or the calamari pan with potatoes and vegetables also delight with their intense flavours.
Sitting quietly in the inner courtyard near Diocletian's Palace, the restaurant specialises in the modern presentation of classic dishes. You can experience an explosion of flavour with tataki of Adriatic tuna with cauliflower cream and capers, creamy risotto or truffle pasta.
A family business with a long tradition, but one that moves with the times. In summer, it is wonderful to sit under old trees bathed in light. Cocktail dreams are accompanied by dishes with taste and heart: creative, crunchy salads, giant burgers or creamy polenta with truffles.
The family-run konoba, housed in a historic stone cottage, is furnished in bistro style. It prides itself on its fresh seafood cuisine, and the creamy squid stew with gnocchi is a must-try. The grilled tuna steak impresses with its fine roasted flavours.
Just outside, in the hills above Cres, there is a charming little house. The restaurant is known for its lamb dishes. The meat comes from the island and the offal is also used. Equally delicious: liver pâté and grilled meat with chard potatoes.
The simple konoba away from the hustle and bustle is very popular. In summer, everyone sits on the terrace and the atmosphere is casual. The price-performance ratio is right here, whether it's pasta alla buzara or with truffles, grilled fish or a mixed seafood dish. The house wine is the perfect accompaniment.
High above the sea, time seems to have stood still. The konoba, which upholds traditional values, is also part of village life. You can enjoy down-to-earth home cooking with homemade sausages, pasta with mushrooms, braised meat with vegetables or tuna steak in a sesame crust.
This cosy Konoba is located in a small hamlet and places great importance on tradition. Cheese, ham and olive oil come from the island, and octopus is stewed in the peka with potatoes until tender. But pasta, steak and grilled fish are also great fun.
