In a ‘gourmet tavern’, things naturally have to be particularly enjoyable. Regional and home-made products are used to make beef tartare, smoked trout ravioli and more - all beautifully presented and accompanied by skilfully selected liquids.
Special attention is paid to the in-house production of meaty delicacies for the snack platters. But you can also enjoy lighter and more modern dishes - preferably, of course, with a glass of wine on the beautiful terrace.
When your plate is filled with vegetables from your own garden as well as sausages, bacon and more from your own smoked meat, you don't need much more to be happy. Except perhaps a glass of red or white wine, fruity juices or a strong homemade vermouth.
The cosy family business in Thermenland scores points with its view and wide range of products. Cold and warm home-style cooking such as beetroot bean salad, roast pork with dumplings or Buchteln with vanilla sauce are accompanied by wines, liqueurs and spirits.
From the idyllic terrace you can look out over the expanse of vineyards, then taste the wine in the 300-year-old cellar. Brüstl, Rindssulzerl or the finely topped Brettljause are the classics, and the smoked trout comes with a garlic and wine marinade.
The pretty house has been a magical attraction for many generations. They are proud of their vegan wines, the kitchen serves cured ham, but also creative and healthy dishes such as asparagus salad with strawberries. Sensational: the cardinal slices.
In addition to wines, the farm also produces grape juice from its own vineyards and you can buy many specialities in the farm shop. The range in the Buschenschank is extensive: there are sausages and black pudding, minced meat and liver spread as well as delicious ham and house salami.
Away from the mainstream, this tavern has a casual atmosphere - the location on the vineyards is top. Mineral wines are accompanied by a delicious egg dish made with pumpkin seed oil. The trout is home-smoked and served with stewed tomatoes.
The beautiful terrace of the Rosenberg has picturesque views of the vineyards, small plates and warm culinary delicacies such as grandma's roast pork. If you want to try all of the accessible, uncomplicated wines, you can spend the night in one of its cosy rooms.
The family business exudes a feel-good atmosphere, everything is decorated with flowers and foliage. Pork roasts and pot roasts come fresh from the oven, while the Heurigenpfandl (Heurigen platter) with blood sausage and pork sausage on potato and gram dumplings is wonderfully hearty.
Chilling out on the sun terrace is a big hit in the warmer months, with fruity wines that are fun to drink. The Buschenschank has a new look. You can enjoy sandwiches and tongue, occasionally there are fried ribs. Fine pastries.
"Homemade" is the magic word here - this naturally applies to the region's typical white wines, Zweigelt and Schilcher, but also to the hearty snacks and delicious pastries such as Poganzen. Those who want to stay longer can spend the night in rustic rooms.
