Dolce&Gabbana transforms Sicilian luxury hotel into a "DG Resort"
At the iconic San Domenico Palace, Taormina, A Four Seasons Hotel, Dolce&Gabbana is once again setting up camp—transforming the pool area into a summer dream in blue-and-white.
It’s safe to say the stunning San Domenico Palace in Taormina has never been short on style. Quite the opposite—the neatly arranged umbrellas circling the sparkling infinity pool are every bit as elegant as the sea views from it are breathtaking. But last year, Dolce&Gabbana took the former monastery’s glamor to new heights with its Pool Takeover. Now, the Milanese maison is returning to the famed luxury hotel for a second season.
Dolce Vita & Gabbana
The fact that Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana chose a Sicilian hotel for their collaboration is no coincidence. Dolce is Sicilian himself, and Gabbana often visited the Mediterranean’s largest island in his youth. To this day, both designers continue to draw inspiration from the island—especially from the coastal town of Taormina on its eastern shore.
It's all too easy to feel like you've stepped into the Italian aristocracy as you stroll through the historic alleyways , your gaze constantly directed towards Mount Etna. Taormina combines elegance with opulence, history with natural beauty. And beauty – that falls squarely within the remit of Dolce&Gabbana.
Pool and boutique
For the Dolce&Gabbana takeover, the maison chose a blue-and-white pattern that perfectly echoes traditional Sicilian ceramics. The design adorns everything from parasols and lounge chairs to pool floats—and even the beloved vintage ice cream cart. It’s meant to pay tribute to the island’s craftsmanship and honor the spirit of southern Italy.
Guests will also find a pop-up boutique in the former sacristy of the historic monastery that now houses the Four Seasons Hotel San Domenico Palace. In addition to clothing and accessories, the boutique offers a chance to purchase a special capsule collection designed exclusively for this location—featuring a new print that celebrates Taormina’s signature views.
