It's a sea change in air travel: More and more passengers are opting for vegan dishes on flights. That's why Emirates is expanding its plant-based menu with innovative ingredients and sustainable products, with a focus on premium plant-based alternatives and new culinary creations in all classes. Some examples include:

  • Economy Class: Crêpes with sautéed carrots and peppers, fried potatoes, mushrooms and tomato concassé, curry vegetable puffs and chocolate mousse.
  • Premium Economy Class: Braised mushrooms with vegetables in five-spice soy sauce, served with jasmine rice and pak choi; for dessert, chocolate cake with apricot compote or raspberry and tonka mousse cake await.
  • Business Class: Red Thai curry tofu with eggplant, beans, mushrooms and taro, served with jasmine rice, followed by tropical coconut-pineapple cake or chocolate-pecan cake.
  • First class: Creamy polenta cake with thyme and mushroom ragout and sautéed spinach, served with eggplant curry with fried rice and turmeric potatoes. For dessert, strawberry charlotte with rhubarb or an exquisite chocolate cake.

Currently, Emirates offers over 300 vegan dishes on flights to 140 destinations worldwide, using sustainable ingredients such as Beyond Meat, tofu from Japan and organic chocolate from France. Fresh produce from Bustanica, the world's largest vertical hydroponic farm, is also used. Additionally over 30,000 passengers now choose vegan milk options for coffee and tea every month.

With these innovations, Emirates is setting new standards for vegan in-flight catering, emphasizing its commitment to sustainable and high-quality in-flight culinary experiences.
