After eating at countless restaurants over the last couple of years, Nikola Zivkovic behind @foodandcoffeegbg has come to a conclusion: it’s time to open a place of his own.
Known to many Gothenburg food lovers through his Instagram and TikTok account @foodandcoffeegbg, Nikola Zivkovic is now taking the next step from content creator to restaurateur. Together with brothers Merdan and Bedran Taspinar, the team behind Delissimo and its four locations, he will open Secco by Nikola at Grand Central later this year.
The idea for the restaurant has been shaped by years of dining experiences, both locally and abroad. “I know what excites me and what I appreciate in a dining experience, the things that make me want to come back. Now I want to turn those ideas, dreams and experiences into something of my own” says Zivkovic. Despite taking its name from the Italian word secco (“dry”), the restaurant will not be tied to a specific cuisine or concept.
Instead, the menu will reflect Nikola’s personal tastes and inspirations. One staple, however, is guaranteed: steak tartare. Set to open in December, Secco will occupy a space within the currently renovated Grand Central and aims to welcome guests from lunch through dinner and late-night drinks, with hospitality as a central focus.
