Lockdown in Austria: Current Corona regulations
Since the Corona cases in Austria have drastically increased again recently, the federal government announced new measures. From Monday, 22.11.2021, a nationwide lockdown comes into force.

Nationwide lockdown
Probably the most comprehensive measure to contain the coronavirus is the nationwide lockdown in force from Monday. This is already the fourth since the start of the pandemic and is initially intended to last a maximum of 20 days. After 10 days, the next steps after the lockdown will be evaluated. All Institutions from the arts, culture, gastronomy, hotel and retail sectors (with the exception of trade for daily needs) bremain closed for the period. For unvaccinated people, this is extended indefinitely after the 20 days have expired.
Entry into Austria
When entering Austria, you must always present a 2.5G Proof requiredh, which means that persons must either vaccinated, recovered or PCR-tested be. In addition antigen and antibody tests lose their validity.

Exit to neighbouring countries
Germany has classified Austria as a high-risk area. Travelers must therefore provide proof of 3G. In this case, you may stay in the country for up to 72 hours. If Germany is only a transit country, quarantine is also not required.
After Italy you can enter the country from Austria with proof of 3G. The 2.5G rule applies on return. Alternatively, you can register and also take a corona test within 24 hours. Quarantine is not necessary.
Also in the Switzerland you can currently enter the country with the 3G rule and registration. Masks are compulsory in restaurants and on public transport. On the return journey, the 2.5G rule applies, or alternatively registration and testing within the first 24 hours.
