On April 13, 2026, the “Park Hyatt Vienna” set the stage for an evening of distinction, as the finest hotels from Austria, Germany, South Tyrol, and Switzerland were honoured. Falstaff TRAVEL presents the top establishments, special award winners, and exclusive impressions from this festive occasion.

Around 150 distinguished figures from the culinary and hospitality elite gathered at the renowned “Park Hyatt Vienna” to celebrate the unveiling of the new Falstaff Hotel Guide in fitting style. Guests were welcomed into the hotel’s impressive surroundings with Pommery champagne, alongside Hilcona-La Pasteria gran raviolo filled with buffalo ricotta and spinach, fondue au Chasselas, and a selection of refined canapés from the “Park Hyatt Vienna” kitchen.

During the presentation, Falstaff publisher Wolfgang M. Rosam honoured the leading establishments and special award recipients—hoteliers and restaurateurs who had travelled from across Austria, Germany, South Tyrol, and Switzerland to attend the occasion.

Bastian Baumann, General Manager of the “Park Hyatt Vienna,” enjoyed the shortest journey of all: representing the host venue, he accepted the award for Best City Hotel Austria. Roland Hamberger, General Manager of the “Rosewood Vienna,” was named Austrian Hotelier of the Year, while Dietmar Müller-Elmau, Director of “Schloss Elmau,” received the Lifetime Achievement Award in Germany. Katrin Rüfenacht, General Manager of the “7132 Hotel,” was honoured with the title Best Spa Hotel Switzerland, and Hugo Pizzinini, Owner and Managing Director of the “Aman Rosa Alpina,” accepted the award for Best New Opening South Tyrol.
