RESTAURANT & BISTRO GUIDE: Falstaff presents the 1,900 best restaurants in the Nordics
Falstaff continues to systematically expand its presence in Northern Europe and presents the Falstaff Restaurant & Bistro Guide Nordics 2026. With its third edition, the guide has grown significantly and is increasingly establishing itself as a comprehensive reference for the Nordic and Baltic gastronomy scene. The guide was presented today in Malmö, along with numerous culinary awards.
With nearly 2,000 entries, the guide showcases the exceptional quality and diversity of the Nordic and Baltic restaurant landscape and serves as inspiration for gourmets and travelers alike.

A Leading Voice in Culinary Culture
For decades, Falstaff has stood for culinary culture at the highest level. With the Nordics Guide, the company expands its international portfolio and strengthens the importance of Northern Europe as a dynamic growth region within the Falstaff universe.
Comprehensive Overview of the Nordic Scene
The guide includes around 1,900 restaurants in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, and the Baltic states, offering a comprehensive overview of the region’s culinary diversity – from fine dining to bistros and neighborhood eateries. The development of the scene is particularly dynamic: 1,227 establishments have been newly included, reflecting the continuous expansion of Nordic and Baltic gastronomy.
Strong Presence Across Countries
The highest density of rated establishments can be found in Denmark (560) and Sweden (550), followed by Norway (300) and Finland (190). In the Baltics, Estonia (140), Lithuania (70), and Latvia (65) are represented.

Top-Ranked Restaurants
At the top of the overall ranking are, among others, AIRA and Frantzén in Stockholm, Geranium and Alchemist in Copenhagen, as well as Maaemo in Oslo—restaurants that rank among Europe’s most influential culinary destinations and impressively highlight the international appeal of Nordic cuisine.
Rating system and availability
The ratings are based on the votes of members of the Falstaff Gourmet Club and are awarded in the categories of cuisine, service, wine list, and ambiance, with a maximum of 100 points.
