Penicillin

This cocktail was created in New York in 2005 and gets its warming note from the honey ginger syrup.

Ingredients
5 Scotch (e.g. Chivas Regal)
1 Islay single malt scotch (e.g. Laphroaig 10 years)
3 lemon juice
3 honey ginger syrup (recipe below)
lemon twist (garnish)

Honey ginger syrup:

Ingredients
1 teaspoon(s) freshly chopped ginger (optionally 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger)
125 boiling water
1.5 cups honey

Preparation:
For the syrup, pour the boiling water over the ginger. Let it cool down to 30 degrees and strain. Mix the cooled ginger tea with the honey. 

Put all the ingredients into a shaker with ice cubes and shake vigorously. Then strain twice onto ice cubes in a pre-chilled tumbler. Garnish with a lemon twist.
