Michelin-starred chef Thomas Wohlfeld has opened a casual second restaurant here with his wife Ann-Kristin. The breakfast restaurant's menu includes outstanding Eggs Benedict and Croque Madame, but also daring dishes such as muffins with chicken drumstick, blueberries, cucumber and dill.
The biggest epochal change in the Plümecke world took place in 2016: the switch from Herrenhäuser Pils to Gilde. Regular guests had to deal with some crisis communication. Otherwise, everything was as it had been for over 100 years: Currywurst and half chickens in a lush pub atmosphere.
Casual pub in the middle of allotments. They are passionate about preparing meat here, and the spare ribs and pulled pork are particularly recommended. If you want to go all out, order the "Smokey Plate" with beef fingers, pork belly, bacon bomb, pulled pork and fries.
The crux of the matter for gourmets is that word of the restaurant's quality has got around and the sandwiches - served as Strammer Max or an olive and tomato salsa version with Serrano ham - are made on a daily basis. Still worth it.

The traditional restaurant is still adorned with the name of the well-known chef Ekkehard Reimann, who has long since given up the business. However, this does not deter the public: the restaurant is always full. The cuisine can be described as down-to-earth, and some of the dishes are prepared using regional produce.
Currywurst, sour meat and Harzer Roller are often accompanied by a freshly tapped beer in the oldest house on the square (the foundations of the Broyhan Haus are said to have been laid back in the 14th century). Vegetarians opt for jacket potatoes in their usual combinations.
