Falstaff Wine Guide Italy 2026

The vineyards of the Kurtatsch winery range from 220 to 900 metres above sea level. The best wines are united in the "Terroir" line: expressive and characterised by the soil, especially the full-bodied Gewürztraminer and Merlot Riservas from the Brenntal vineyard. The white wines from the very high Kurtatsch vineyards - such as the multi-layered "Amos" blend - are characterised by their elegance. The two flagship wines bear the name "Freienfeld": a Cabernet Sauvignon and a Chardonnay. With "Tres", an assemblage of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, the limits of what is possible have been redefined.
