Klaus Lentsch comes from a traditional wine growing family in Branzoll in the South Tyrolean lowlands. He had long wanted to break away from the family and become self-employed. In 2008, he fulfilled his dream of owning his own winery by purchasing the Hembergerhof farm in Atzwang at the beginning of the Eisack Valley. The vineyards stretch over 200 meters steeply up the slope in a magnificent south-facing location. Pinot Noir, Grüner Veltliner and Gewürztraminer thrive here. The top wine is the Blauburgunder Riserva Bachgart. A few years later, in 2013, Klaus Lentsch was able to acquire the Amperg vineyard in St. Pauls in Überetsch. This is now the home and a spacious, functional cellar where all the grapes are processed. Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer and Goldmuskateller grow in the surrounding vineyards. Finally, Lagrein and Pinot Grigio come from the traditional vineyards in Branzoll. The Klaus Lentsch winery thus covers a wide range of typical South Tyrolean wines. In the Amperg wine shop, tradition and modernity invite you to linger in a cozy atmosphere. There are also regular colourful events, from theatre to rock concerts. It's well worth a visit!
