Falstaff Wine Guide Germany 2026

The flint wines that Karin and Carsten Höfer produce in an old brewery cellar in Würzburg occupy their own place in the landscape of the German flint wine miracle: stylistically, they are much closer to the "nouvelle vague" with its focus on taut construction than to the traditional German flint wine style. Within the crisp, fresh group, however, these flint wines avoid too much pithiness. Across the range, we find a natural form of balance, fine mineral-spicy notes and beautiful elegance. We reward this with the third star - congratulations.
