Weingut am Klotz

Falstaff Wineguide Germany 2021

The Isteiner Klotz is one of Germany’s most impressive limestone formations, where the vines root directly on pure, while coral limestone – categorised geologically as a Jurassic limestone. Two families, the Kellers from Oberbergen and the Reineckers from Auggen, bought this Weingut am Klotz in 2019 and have run it together since. “Time and again this terroir astonishes and enthuses us,” says Friedrich Keller. New vineyards are to be planted and there are plans for Sekt as well as still wines. The very first vintage already shows that great things are in store.
