Falstaff Wine Guide Italy 2026

Since the early 1980s, Karl Pichler and his father-in-law Franz Egger have passionately dedicated themselves to viticulture at the Innerleiterhof farm in Scena/Schenna. The vines are trained in the Guyot system and on the pergola on a sunny hillside above the Merano basin. Production is based on manual labour and care. Six typical South Tyrolean wines are at the end of the production chain: "Erzherzog Johann" Weissburgunder, Sauvignon, Blayburgunder Rosé "Mathilde", Meraner Hügel, "Erzherzog Johann" Blauburgunder and "Roaner", a blend of Lagrein and Merlot.
