Picturesquely nestled in the vineyards, the winery has a box seat above the Merano valley basin. On this former fruit farm, the vines are planted on slopes with an incline of a remarkable 40 per cent, so that the warm air as well as the cold air that flows down from the mountains at night can blow around the grapes unhindered. The vineyards are cultivated in an environmentally friendly and sustainable manner. Grape varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir and the Solaris variety, which is still rather rare for the region, are cultivated. Today, the Plonerhof is one of the most beautiful estates in Merano.
