Josef and Martina Ehmoser are passionate about cultivating first-class vineyards in the eastern part of the Wagram, a striking loess mountain range. A natural way of working, sustainability practiced for generations and unconditional quality standards are the guiding principles. As a member of "Traditionsweingüter Österreich", the winery trusts its ancestors and focuses on traditional wines - grown in harmony with the soil, climate and variety. Each bottle is something typical and original from the Wagram - a unique, straightforward wine with statement and charisma.
The range is expressive and comprehensive: the main variety is Grüner Veltliner, which thrives excellently on the characteristic loess soils and is vinified in styles ranging from classically spicy to powerful and elegant to the two ÖTW Erste Lage wines Ried Georgenberg and Ried Hohenberg. However, the Ehmosers are also passionate about their multi-layered Pinot Blanc. Josef Ehmoser convincingly proves that Riesling can also develop a wonderful piquancy in pure loess vineyards. The red wines Zweigelt and St. Laurent, which are matured in large wooden barrels, are also rich in finesse and elegant.
Manual labour is very important in the vineyard, and the grapes are harvested exclusively by hand. In the cellar, Josef Ehmoser gives his wines time to develop their own personality. He always supports the ageing potential of his wines and emphasises their characteristics without forcing them down prescribed paths. The power of nature is thus preserved in its entirety, and you can taste it - even years later. As a result, the typical regional wines of the certified organic winery are also highly regarded internationally.
