In der Tradition der Kellermeister von Jerez kennzeichnete der Önologe bestimmte Fässer mit den Buchstaben XR, weil er besondere Merkmale gefunden hatte, die in anderen nicht vorhanden waren. Dieser XR wurde nie als solcher vermarktet, sondern war immer eine Referenz für den Meisterwinzer. Dieser Brauch hielt sich fast ein Jahrhundert lang, zwischen den Ernten von 1869 und 1964. XR 2015, sein erster Jahrgang, ist eine Hommage an alle Meisterwinzer, die von Jean Pineau bis heute dazu beigetragen haben, einen Teil der großen Geschichte des spanischen Weins zu schreiben. in Marqués de Riscal Auge : Intensive schwarz-kirschrote Farbe mit guter Farbtiefe und kaum Entwicklungsspuren. Nase : Sehr Sehr ausdrucksstarke Aromen in der Nase mit Noten von Lakritz, Zimt und schwarzem Pfeffer, mit Ein subtiler Hinweis auf den langen Ausbau im Fass, dank seiner großen Komplexität und reifen, konzentrierten Frucht. Ripe plum on the nose, pickled cherries, plus spice components, some liquorice, cloves and cinnamon. Seems warm and intense. The palate is rather full-bodied with a soft structure, noticeable ripe tannins and harmonising, vivid acidity. Long finish.
