Aromas of very ripe red fruit, black cherry, blackberry jelly and dried plum, with some smoke, tobacco and undergrowth too. On the palate there's grippy, somewhat rustic tannins and a rather restrained acidity supporting the delicate sweetness of plum and blackberry. Powerful food accompaniment does it good.
