The red wine Amarone Classico della Valpolicella, vintage 1987 from the winery Bertani has been rated in 2022 by Othmar Kiem & Simon Staffler with 92 Falstaff points.
Bright, dark garnet red. Opens with notes of smoked meat, goji berries, dried plums, fine savouriness in the background. Very full-bodied in the attack and on the palate, but shows quite rough tannins, dries clearly, alcoholic on the finish.
