Tasting from 20.02.2026: Ulrich Sautter

Day 1: Dark fruit aromas on the nose, sweet cherry, blackberry, elderberry, blackcurrant jelly, followed by herbal spice, dark tobacco and chocolate. Lots of pressure on the palate, rich, flowing tannins, fine acidity, amarena cherry, delicate sweetness, blackberry, good length. Day 2: Smoke on the nose, sweet red fruit, Amarena cherry, blackberry jelly, herbal spice. Gripping on the palate, alcohol, sweetness and power. Little changed. Bitter due to alcohol? Day 3: Ripe and cooked red and dark fruits on the nose, Amarena cherry, rum pot. On the palate with tannins tending towards bitterness, Mon Chéri, pickled plum, pressing alcohol, but less strong than before, delicate sweetness that is better integrated, good length.
