The red wine Catena Alta Malbec, vintage 2000 from the winery Bodega Catena Zapata has been rated in 2025 by Peter Moser with 90 Falstaff points.
Deep ruby, purple reflections, subtle ochre rim with a watery edge. Some caramel, ripe cherry fruit, tobacco nuances, nutty touch. Delicately salty in texture, appears somewhat loosely knit, fine sweetness, a wine without rough edges, still in good shape considering its age, fresh finish, a hint of eucalyptus in the finale.
