The red wine Moncerbal, Bierzo DO, vintage 2010 from the winery Bodega Descendientes de J. Palacios has been rated in 2025 by Peter Moser with 95 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Mencía
Dark ruby-garnet colour, purple reflections, and a delicate ochre rim. Nuances of nougat, some blueberry and cherry, ripe plum underlaid with violets, tangerine zest, hints of tobacco and subtle slate notes. Full-bodied, with ripe fruit, subtle dried-plum flavour, fine acidity and a salty, dark-berry finish. Already developed and easy to drink. (PM, drinking/ ageing + 20).
