Tasting Notes
Herbal and savoury, pine conifer. Not with the freshness of a cooler year, but highly endowed with flavours. Round and full on the palate, with grainy tannins that are already losing their tension. However, it does not come across as clumsy - despite the low acidity - the alcohol is perfectly integrated, dense and compact in the centre of the palate, with a closed finish. Impressive wine in its savoury density, to chew on. Will grow-up for a long time and correct prejudices against the 2003 vintage.
More about the tastingSparkling, intense ruby purple; very clear, present fruit, intense aromas of dark, ripe cherries, some blackcurrants; shows a lot of dense and supple tannin on the palate, pleasingly fresh fruit, pithy finish, can only improve with further ageing.
