The red wine Carrick Bannockburn Pinot Noir, vintage 2018 from the winery Carrick Wines has been rated in 2022 by Anne Krebiehl with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Pinot Noir from the region Central Otago in New Zealand.
A certain heat initially almost masks that floral note that hovers above ripe cherry. That ripe, plump fruit carries right onto the palate where its inherent power becomes coupled with freshness and elegance. This is definitely a reflection of the stark landscape of Bannockburn. It is on the finish that a lovely, aromatic note of dried herb weaves it magic.
