The red wine I Sodi di San Niccolò IGT, vintage 2012 from the winery Castellare di Castellina has been rated in 2017 by Othmar Kiem with 95 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sangiovese from the region Chianti classico in Italy.
Clear, intense ruby with garnet. Concentrated nose with notes of pomegranate, ripe fresh cherry, and some cedar. Polished and round on the attack, opens with plenty of fine-meshed tannins. It is silky and shows nice sweet fruit texture on the back end, and it finishes long with some tobacco notes.
